We have actually a truly quick update, but I am going to try a new format. It is based upon several days worth of information and many diverse sources. I will list these “headlines/sources” in mostly chronological order and then at the end tie them all together. The narrative warfare here is in full bore mode. Note that a very few predate the coup for context.
8/25 Gabon refuses to allow any foreign reporters to cover the election.
8/26 Gabon cuts internet, imposes curfew after election.
8/28 French TV and Radio surprised by ban after election.
8/28 HRW (them again) reports 6 for human abuses and the U.S. Treasury imposes (rubber stamps) sanctions. Includes a high ranking Rwandan general.
8/30 French mining company Eramet, which has roots to the Rothschild family, announced an immediate halt to its operations in Gabon after the military coup.
8/30 A (TG afric_ylblbka) restatement of the coup optics with the added opinion that all that remained was the reaction of the French Foreign Ministry, who undoubtedly would be more than usually hysterical.
8/30 Another opinion (from TG afric_ylblbka), that supports my prior contention that this Ngeuma character was waiting in the wings for his cue to come on camera. A relative nobody (who was incidentally responsible for the health and safety of the president and his family) becomes president of an oil rich country practically overnight. Providence beyond measure. And goes on to state that his decade long diplomatic term was only ended at the urging of our corrupt Chief of Staff from Operation Mamba, and that they were childhood friends. It's a palace revolution from one side of a family to the other.
8/30 VOA - Gabon Coup Ignites Debate On Central Africa's Long Serving Leaders.
8/30 Video of search of home belonging to Chief of Staff to ousted President’s son.
8/30 UN Sec. Gen. Guterres condemns coup, demands immunity for President Bongo and his family.
8/30 Rwanda and Cameroon presidents sack military generals barely 24 hours after Gabon coup.
8/30 France preparing for evacuation operation in Gabon.
8/30 TotalEnergies French energy giant, is prioritizing employee safety concerns.
8/30 Assala Energy (owned by US Carlyle Group) says oil production will be unaffected by the coup.
8/31 AU suspends Gabon.
8/31 Less than 24 hours after coup Rwanda and Cameroon expand their military purges.
8/31 US to curb visas for those “considered responsible” for undermining Sierra Leone's democracy, (i.e. 2023 election).
8/31 Interesting opinion piece (TG pan_ikota) on qui bono on all of these coups.
8/31 France24: Planned in advance: Was the coup timed to follow election results?
8/31 France 24: Well planned palace coup? Bongo campaign adviser calls it an “inside job”.
8/31 Rwandan new General appointment is same one from above sanctioned by the US for his role in DRC instability/human rights abuses.
8/31 EU struggles to grasp that their influence in Africa is waning fast.
8/31 Ever since Sudan went hot on April 15, it seems climate change is causing these coups. (Probably not exactly what was meant but it's what it says!)
9/1 Gabonese rebel leader Brice Oligui Nguema will be sworn in on Monday, Sept. 4.
9/1 AfricaIntel post regarding concern over coup leaders intentions by the opposition coalition.
9/1 Video by Richard Medhurst stating that France is being lanced from all its influence in Africa. (YDS!)
So, let's add all that up. Zero foreign correspondents were able to report on this election. We have an immediate media and communication blackout as soon as the election is over. It takes three days to count enough ballots to declare Bongo the winner and (approximately) 10 minutes to start a military coup. The communication and media blackouts lift and Ngeuma starts marching in the street with his guards yelling “Oligui Presidente!” which the entire world can watch live. Except for those watching on French media. (If that doesn't take you back to November 2020 in the USA, nothing will.)
We have what appears to be a random story about routine sanctions on individuals involved in DRC instability. But wait! There's more! Rwanda and Cameroon react by immediately shaking up their own military commands and one of those sanctioned guys gets a plummy new post in Rwanda. (Smacking the US in the face metaphorically, I'm sure.) France reacts by gearing up for a total evacuation of all citizens, while a US owned company says the coup will not affect them. And, just for good measure the US also sanctions individuals they targeted as “election denier types” in Sierra Leone.
Our first pair of opinion pieces look for a French Foreign Ministry response which was not only not hysterical, it was MIA. And then ties up our own narrative with a few extra ribbons and bows. Adding the extended family connections for clarity. The EU was so alarmed it held a meeting.
After only a slight delay, the narrative gets in gear. First with the advisability in this climate for retaining long term leaders. (👀 what happens) Then the UN demonstrates zero concern for the Gabonese people but demand immunity for the criminal president. (consistency counts!) The criminal connection to the son is put under a magnifying glass. The French media come on board with two actually reasonable looks at the coup itself, but offer no decent outcome probability. Then we get our climate change agenda brought in as an afternoon apertif.
Our last opinion piece (correctly in my opinion) notes that the EU/UN neocolonialists are getting shoved out of Africa by the US/UK combo sumo team. Germany is already gone. UN and French forces have also left select fields. The war being waged by them on Europe as a whole is not even hidden anymore. The video referenced but not shown is correct in the contention that France is mostly through the exit door but not much else, so it's not a bad use of time for nearly 4 minutes but not a great one either.
Just to be clear, our Sahel group are legitimate for the people coups. They are not like this one - planned and executed by US/UK interests. However, in that those entities are all in on crushing Europe, there are benefits accruing to them in that war irrespective of not having been directly involved in the coups themselves. IMO, Sudan is in the process of a US/Troika driven coup by conflict. But then they have been for decades.
Just wanted you guys to have this before the holiday weekend (American Labor Day). Because as easy as it is to see these narratives, piecing it all together is a labor of love. I have no doubt we haven't near about seen the last of these. But you don't see any Russian response other than a note of concern. No one in China is batting an eye either. Don't think I saw a specific response from South Africa, or Egypt, for that matter. That tells you this is not a popular uprising driven coup, nor a military one on behalf of the population to relieve a Western plantation owner condition. Changing from one directly to another does not count. This is just as so many besides myself are saying - it's roller derby - the family edition.
Have a wonderful weekend wherever you are! Over and out.
Go to Part 3.
Back to Part 1.
Don’t like this work love this work. Great detail and effort was put into this factual reporting NOT an “opinion piece”.
The division within the west, the Exodus in fact is VERY real.
Instead of chasing the NEWS coverage this is “breaking” news
US/UK vs EU/UN, what an interesting development/perspective. There's a faint echo of Macron's recent call for dedollarization. BRICS silence vibes of "never interfere with an enemy in the process of destroying themselves". When one can't hurt his enemy, does he start hurting his allies? Is NATO starting to fall apart?
