A”friendly “ tug of war? As an aside that’s a great picture. Looks beautiful. Maybe a great diving destination. Thanks for the update. It makes sense that if India and China are both involved Vickie won’t be dropping in to “bake cookies “
I wouldn't think so. India seems to be the bridge to everywhere in this drama. But the theatrics here are so over the top it can only be for the attention getting. Not being bound by journalistic convention I can be free to speculate on why that might be. Naturally given to already believe most people act in ways to get what they want in most situations; I always wonder at outside of usual norms behavior. This unfriendly Maldives, still friendly India, always stoic Chinese triad producing such an ingeniously timed allocation of resources can't be accidental. IMO. 🤓
Likeliest reason for no (or minimal) Western dalliance in the election? They didn't think they needed it. The funniest part of all.
I'd like to see China and Maldives form a strong alliance. Maybe India would be less supportive of Israel if it had competition from Maldives over trade.
Well I'm not really sure that there are "sincere" feelings happening here. We will be seeing a lot of cooperative coalitions this year. My theory based on this information thread is that China, India, and Maldives probably cooked up this whole play to get the double military coverage in the area and more importantly China involved. No one really wants to fight India, but that pales in comparison with how much no one wants to pick a fight with China. Puts an entirely different environment in this whole area with China "legitimately" placed on Maldives.
Best part of the whole deal is that an election made it happen. Yeah democracy🎉! Makes it hard to make big objections from the Western peanut gallery.
Also the Yemeni actions of the past decades are just a bookend on that. The US can't lose what they've invested in for decades. It just "isn't possible".
Britain and US are just parent and child. The US was created to takeover the military operations. But only to supervise the empire business. Daddy is still in charge of a lot!
Standard operating procedure all over the world. The US "never" kills civilians unless it is "accidental or unavoidable", or mostly just completely invisible. Due to their ownership of the media. It's a myth that civilian corporate architecture owns them.
God bless Clinton, GW and Obama! They took the ball from amateurs GHW, Reagan, Carter, Ford, and now Biden and ran it downfield in totally spectacular fashion. No other teams can even begin to compete. For creating this world war (around their creation of terrorism) that's been being waged for 75 years and escalating for each of the past 30.

Good work Karen!

The Brits have been there even longer.

I consider that, the City of London etc., but have yet to more convinced than not. Children grow up and put their parents in a nursing home.
Well, not saying they wouldn't try. But obviously they both belong in the underworld version of one!
I'll call Dante to help us out...

I appreciate the analogy.
